Rivolgo il mio più cordiale benvenuto a tutti i naviganti.
Troverete in questo sito web istituzionale, che abbiamo particolarmente curato anche sotto l’aspetto innovativo, ogni utile informazione sui servizi offerti. L’Istituto che mi onoro dirigere è stato fondato nel 1991 allorquando la felice intuizione di politici riberesi trovò unanime consenso della Giunta e del Consiglio Provinciale.
Era necessario infatti soddisfare la consistente domanda ed il diritto allo studio musicale classico con l’istituzione nel territorio, fino ad allora sprovvisto, di uno specifico presidio formativo che desse la possibilità di istruirsi in una pubblica struttura.
Il pareggiamento ai Conservatori di Musica di Stato, ottenuto nel 2003 con Decreto del Presidente della Regione Siciliana, e l’accreditamento nel sistema nazionale dell’Alta formazione Artistica e Musicale (AFAM), conferito nel 2009 dal Ministero dell’Università e Ricerca a seguito di severe verifiche sui target qualitativi raggiunti, impegna l’Istituto a realizzare percorsi didattici europei in virtù della Legge 508/99 che prevede la riforma del settore sotto la sorveglianza del Dipartimento AFAM presso il predetto Ministero.
L’ Istituto con l’approvazione ministeriale dello Statuto d’autonomia è stato trasformato ope legis in Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali - ISSM, ente pubblico di livello universitario.
Anche i Diplomi Accademici in discipline musicali del vecchio ordinamento sono stati dichiarati equiparati alle Lauree con Legge 268/02 ai fini dell’accesso ai pubblici concorsi. Il nuovo ordinamento, in linea con il Trattato di Lisbona ed il Bologna Process, è identico ai percorsi universitari dunque strutturato con il sistema europeo dei crediti formativi (trasferibili nei paesi UE col sistema degli ETCS) per il riconoscimento reciproco degli studi svolti e consentire altresì la mobilità studentesca internazionale attraverso appositi programmi come il Lifelong Learning Programme – Erasmus: tutto ciò per centrare l’obiettivo europeo di “un’economia basata sulla conoscenza” a cui si sosterrà il comune mercato del lavoro.
Il nuovo ordinamento prevede Corsi di Diploma Accademico di primo e secondo livello, di specializzazione, di formazione alla ricerca, di perfezionamento o master.
In attesa che si attivino i Licei Musicali nell’ambito della scuola secondaria di 2° grado, l'Istituto manterrà attivi anche i Corsi di formazione di base rivisitati in coerenza con gli indirizzi ministeriali.
Tra i nostri obiettivi pedagogici particolare impegno è rivolto alla formazione artistica dello studente attraverso iniziative di produzione concertistica, competizioni, master, seminari, borse di studio, convenzioni e intese con altri Enti e Istituzioni nonchè attività formative finalizzate alla formazione permanente e ricorrente.

You all can find in this institutional site, that we have been renovating in any possible aspects, all useful informations about our services. The Institute, whom I am honored to be Director, has been created in 1991, when a great intuition from the politicians living in Ribera reached the common interest both of the Government and the Councilmen of the Agrigento Province. It was necessary indeed to answer to a wide request for a musical professional studies with the creation of a public center of classical musical studies, that did not exist till that moment. Our Institute is obliged to follow didactic criteria based on European standards according to the law number 508/99 that is regulating the reform of the musical department studies under the tutoring of AFAM Department within the Ministery of Education. This obligation on following National standards as well as European came out from the equalized level of studies to Italian Conservatories, declared in 2003 by a decree issued by President of Regione Sicilia, and because of that legalized into the the High Artistic and Musical Department. Therefore the Institute has been changed, thanks to the approval of the Statute, into High Artistic and Musical Department (ISSM) which means the University level of education. The music Diplomas from the old academic system ( first and second level) have been
declared equal to degrees from University (Law 268/02), and so far useful as well to participate on public national competition. Our new legal order, that fits with the regulations of Lisbon Treaty and the Bologna Process, is the same to University Courses. Thereby all musical courses are regulated by the European credit system (due to be carried within the UE trough the system of ECTS), this has been conceived for the mutual recognition of awarded studies and yet allowing the international mobility of students. This last point has been settled by specific programs like the Life Long Learning – Erasmus; with the purpose of developing an economy based on the knowledge, common aim of the open European market.
The new order plans Courses of Academic Diploma of 1 and 2 level, specialization, research, improver courses or masters.
Waiting for Musical Lyceums, to be activated within the secondary school system, our Institute will maintain active also the basic training courses modernized according to the indication of the Ministry.
Among our pedagogical aims a specific work is based on the artistic improvement of the student trough concerts, artistic competitions, master, work-shops, scholarships, and special agreements with Institutions both public and private; all this is conceived in order to build a permanent or cyclic training.
